Padua & Euganei Hill Towns
Padua contains over 3000 years of history among its ancient and modern edifices.
Our 8-hour excursion will show you just why Padua city attracts thousands of visitors each year -due to the city's elegant and charming atmosphere that includes a rich artistic heritage, a vibrant culture and robust economy.
Your driver will also lead you to the Euganei Hills outside Padua, where you may explore the Battaglia Terme hot springs, used since antiquity in works of hydraulic engineering.
A breathtaking example is found in Valsanzibio's 16th Century Villa Barbarigo and its lavish gardens decorated with water spewing fountains and a maze of hedges.
Just a few kilometers away is Arquà Tetrarca, where the great 14th century poet Petrarch spent the last years of his life and is buried at Santa Maria Church.
Later we will admire the Ca' Marcello Castle, the 17th century Villa Nani Mocenigo, the Medieval Church of Santa Giustina, better known as the "Shrine of the Seven Churches".
Our itinerary may also include a visit to the elegant and wealthy town of Este -developed in pre-Roman times in the southern Euganei Hills. In addition you may travel to the town of Montagnana and its perfectly preserved St. Zeno Castle built in the 1200s.
