Highlights of Rome Private Excursion

Travel from Civitavecchia pier to the center of the Eternal City. This one-day trip will allow you to see and admire the highlights of the city of Rome.  You will be assisted, by one of expert drivers, during the entire day until your return back to the cruise ship. When arriving in Rome you will enjoy the following sites:  The Basilica of St. Paul’s Outside the Walls (this is one of the 4 major basilicas where the tomb of St. Paul is located). The drive continues on toThe Pyramid – built to house the tomb of Caio Cestio, then on to Circus Maximus (it was here where chariot races took place during the Roman Empire, immortalized in the movie “Ben Hur”).  Finally, we arrive at the Colosseum (the greatest monument of the roman empire) to visit the best of the archaeological area avoiding to get lost inside the ruins with  thousands of visitorshere we walk the cobbled stones where once the emperors and the Romans populated the arena.  The walk continuesand includes also an overview on to the  Palatine Hill (once the Residence of Roman Emperors) then we drive up to Piazza Venezia (Venice Square) passing along the Imperial Forum Avenue and here we stop to admire the panoramic view of the Valley of the Roman Forums and the 7 hills from the Capitoline Hill. We then continue the drive to the Trevi Fountain (where king Neptune’s Tritons guard the sparkling waters of Rome’s most beloved monument).  We get off here.  It is a must to throw 3 coins in the fountain to assure your return to the Eternal City.  From here we proceeding crossing the Tiber River, you will enter the Vatican City for a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica. Pass through Bernini’s awesome colonnade and step into this massive basilica that lies at the heart of Roman Catholicism. In the apse is the splendid gilt and bronze throne, also designed by Bernini. Take time to see Michelangelo’s Pièta  of the most famous sculptures on the world built in white marble. At the end of the tour we will drive back to the Port of Civitavecchia.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation of your excursion is free up to 48 hours prior to the service booked.  100% of the rate will be due in case of NO SHOW or late cancellation

Reservation terms

• The tour sequence may be changed to avoid traffic or demonstration congestions, that are frequent in Rome, but will always cover the mentioned sites.
• Our company does not accept responsibility for any accident regarding theft or damages during the course of our tours.
• The excursion don’t include client’s meals , food and beverage,  entrance fees to museums and monuments
• Entrance to the Colosseum is 11 € (flexible entrance tickets)
• Basic entrance to the Vatican Museum is 14 € (flexible entrance tickets)
• Entrance to the Catacombs is 6 € (flexible entrance tickets)
