The Candia and Lunigiana Hills are located in the north-western sea province of Massa Carrara.
This wine route winds along spectacular hilltop panoramas overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and vine-speckled landscape below. Perched above this hill country are well over 160 castles dating back to Italy's medieval period. Many of these ancient constructions are still in perfect state and well worth visiting.
The two most characteristic wines of this region are the "Candia dei Colli Apuani" and "Colli di Luni" vintages.
The culinary traditions of this region are perfect mix of Tuscan, Ligurian and Romagnolo cuisine. The region also boasts some of Italy's best olive oil.
Our tour will make stops in a typical family-run trattorias, wineries and olive pressing facilities.
